FIRES: Futures through Indigenous Research, Evaluation & Storytelling invites participants to explore how Indigenous frameworks are reclaiming data as a tool of sovereignty and transforming research, evaluation, and storytelling to reflect the strengths, priorities, and self-determination of Indigenous communities.

This conference is geared toward non-Indigenous people and organizations who work in Indigenous communities or are interested in learning how to apply Indigenous approaches appropriately. Indigenous people are also welcome!

FIRES is intentionally designed around three focused learning pathways: Indigenous Data Sovereignty, Indigenous Evaluation, and Indigenous Storytellers of Health. Together, the pathways represent a life cycle from fire to water to rejuvenation, with each exploring a different stage of transformation and renewal.
