Liberatory Governance & Leadership learning circle - apply by May 11!

Liberatory Governance & Leadership Learning Circle from alterNative & the COO Learning Community

Are you ready to reimagine how we govern and lead in ways that center justice, healing, and collective power? Join this second learning circle opportunity offered this year.

We are living in a time of deep crisis and possibility. Political, economic, cultural, and environmental systems are breaking down under the weight of inequality, extraction, and climate chaos. At the same time, movements for justice are advancing bold visions that show us another way is not only possible, but already in motion.

This moment demands more than short-term resistance or isolated wins. We must build capacity to - at every level - exercise power collectively, create and guide complex systems, and shape culture. Our organizing must also include how we govern and lead ourselves, our organizations, and our communities.

Governance and leadership are strategic leverage points. When intentionally practiced together, leadership and governance reinforce one another: leaders embody liberation in practice, while governance ensures those practices are resourced, institutionalized, and protected from backsliding.

The Communities of Opportunity (COO) Learning Community (LC) & alterNative invite you to participate in a learning circle series designed to help community leaders, staff, and board members learn how to strategically and intentionally leverage governance and leadership to transform how power flows, how systems are structured, and how culture is felt at the organizations.

The series will be facilitated by alterNative consulting.

What to expect:

The series blends critical analysis, collective learning and visioning, and application of tools that translate learning into action. The series includes:

  • 2 full day in-person gatherings. One at the beginning and one at the end of the series.

  • Virtual individualized coaching sessions in-between in-person gatherings.

The series would be most beneficial for organizations that can send 2-3 to participate. Individuals can still participate.
