Queer the Land and Noor invites the community to come break your fast or affirm others’ fasts. Fasting, being a “practicing” Muslim, or being Muslim at all is not required to attend. As we near the end of Ramadan, the hosts want to create space for folks of all genders, sexualities, faiths and non faiths, and ages to gather in the spiritual grounding of the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan. Join us on April 7th for Cham/Pan Asian Halal food and Traditional African American Bean Pie to think about how Ramadan can be a space for all.
Dr. Mar Aziz will lead a gender neutral prayer and create space for community discussions on what fasting means, its relationship to social justice, and queering Ramadan. This will be a masked event when not eating.
