King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division is looking for motivated individuals to join our Operator-in-Training (OIT) Program, a paid pathway into one of the most essential and rewarding fields in public service. Whether you’re pivoting careers or looking to begin your own, this program equips you with the skills, certification, and confidence to grow into a full-time Wastewater Treatment Operator role.

As an OIT, you’ll gain hands-on experience operating treatment plants, earn your Washington State Wastewater Operator Certification, and step into a career that offers stability, growth, and purpose.
