LISC Funding Opportunities

New Funding Available: LISC Puget Sound announces two significant grant opportunities aimed at organizations dedicated to fostering economic empowerment and enhancing workforce outcomes in the region.

  1. Financial Coaching Training and Technical Assistance Partner: We are looking for proposals from organizations ready to elevate financial stability by integrating financial coaching into regional employment and training programs. We are seeking a partner to develop and support the financial coaching training and technical assistance infrastructure essential for the expansion of the Financial Opportunity Center®. This role will encompass creating and conducting educational training for staff at partner organizations, co-designing curriculums, and devising financial coaching supports for workforce participants. Proposals for funding up to $100,000 are welcome.   2. Expansion of the Financial Opportunity Center® Model: Additionally, we are accepting proposals to pilot the expansion of the Financial Opportunity Center® model in Snohomish, King, and Pierce Counties. This effort seeks to merge financial coaching with access to public benefits, to enrich employment and training programs. We invite proposals for grants of up to $75,000 per year for three years, subject to performance and availability of funds. Download the application here.

Priority will be given to organizations involved with:

  • Leveraging the Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) Program.

  • Initiatives supporting residents of Everett, WA, particularly those in the Casino Road Neighborhood.

  • Projects connecting families to green jobs.

  • Black Home Initiative partners in Seattle, interested in using the FOC model to provide housing preservation services, including legal and financial assistance.

  • Programs in Pierce County that build on the efforts of the United Way of Pierce County Center for Strong Families.

  • Programs that link Community College students to food, housing and public benefits.

Key Dates:

  • April 15, 2024: Application available

  • April 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM: Virtual Information Session on the RFP. Participants can join to gain more insights and ask questions about the requirements and process.

  • May 15, 2024: Applications due by 11:59 p.m.

  • Mid-Late May 2024: Applications reviewed

  • June 2024: Awardees announced
