Bolder Advocacy nonprofit training resources

COO and the Seattle Foundation partnered with Bolder Advocacy to offer a training on the fundamentals of nonprofit advocacy. A PDF of the presentation may be accessed here and a recording of the training can be accessed here.

The training covers critical questions and guidance for nonprofit advocacy:

  • Which rules apply to you?

  • Facts & Circumstances: How do 501(c)(3)s remain nonpartisan?

  • Permissible activities: What can 501(c)(3)s do during an election season?

  • Individual political activities: What can your staff do?

For those seeking more information and tools to support their advocacy work, Bolder Advocacy also offers many free advocacy resources on their website here, and feel free to contact their hotline if you have any questions about the information shared in this training or about your nonprofit advocacy rights in general – BA attorney-trainers are available every weekday to offer free technical assistance: advocacy@afj.org or 866-NP-LOBBY (866-675-6229).
