Best Starts for Kids Summit Panel: Youth, Family and Community Led Movements for Systems Change

Communities of Opportunity (COO) and Best Starts for Kids - Healthy and Safe Environments (HSE) community partners at the first annual Best Starts for Kids Summit discussed youth civic engagment as part of the “Youth, Family and Community Led Movements for Systems Change: How young people and families work upstream to impact inequities by race and place” panel.

Panel members, representing a range of COO and HSE community partner organizations, described the successes and challenges they’ve faced when implementing policy and systems strategies that ensure their communities are thriving. Panelists will also discussed the importance of having the people most impacted by inequities leading these efforts and the unique role young people and families can play in improving the health and well-being of their communities.

A big thank you to our community partners and especially to the youth participants from Food Empowerment Education and Sustainability Team (FEEST), Coalition for Refugees for Burma (CRB), Korean Community Service Center (KCSC), and El Centro de la Raza.
