Abolishing the prison industrial complex is a multilayered endeavor, with generations of work ahead to define and enact what comes next. What do we do when people orchestrate abuse into society, and how do we begin to pursue accountability and repair for systemic harm at the highest levels—without relying on prisons?

This conversation–featuring panelists Alec Karakatsanis, Victoria Law, and Andrea Ritchie and moderated by Priscilla Grim–will explore how to talk about punishment, accountability, state violence, and public harm from an abolitionist perspective, especially in moments when calls for prosecution intensify.
