Creating an inclusive workplace culture is essential for fostering innovation, collaboration, and team satisfaction. The Creating Inclusive Culture workshop is designed to help you understand the importance of inclusivity and develop strategies for creating a more diverse and welcoming work environment. You will learn how empathy can help us navigate difficult dynamics, especially when power imbalances exist. Those in positions of power often lack awareness of their influence, while those with less power are often acutely aware and bear more emotional labor during interactions. You will learn that acknowledging the imbalance of risk and expressing understanding of the power dynamic can support psychological safety. The workshop will also support you to discern when dynamics of hierarchy influenced by historical inequities and stereotype threats get interpreted as personal traits.
