Communities of Opportunity invites proposals for systems and policy change to advance racial equity
Communities of Opportunity is pleased to announce a new round of funding to advance racial equity through systems and policy change efforts.
Systems and policy change grants support community-led and community-engaged organizations that are working to change public policy, institutional practices or other systems in order to decrease or prevent inequity in King County, centering communities of color. These grants support work that increase community connections, economic opportunity, health and housing.
Over the last two years, COO systems and policy change grantees have been instrumental in advancing racial equity through new access to healthy school lunches to consumer protection reforms. We are excited to announce new funding to continue supporting the movement for racial equity.
Applications for the 2020–2021 grant cycle accepted through September 16, 2019
COO will prioritize applications from groups led and staffed by individuals who reflect the ethnic and cultural communities they serve and who have a demonstrated ability for reaching and engaging members of those communities.
An organization applying on its own behalf may receive up to $100,000 per year. Applicants applying as a coalition with other organizations may receive up to $200,000 per year.
