Healthy Places Leadership Development
Leadership Development Training provided by the Built Environment Work Group of the Healthy King County Coalition!
Healthy choices and environments should be available to everyone, regardless of where they live. The Healthy King County Coalition is committed to ensuring equitable access to healthy options for all King County residents. One of the ways we do this is through training community leaders. We draw upon the expertise of these leaders to mobilize communities and inform local decision makers regarding health equity. Our training is for people of color and low-income residents, or those who represent populations that have not experienced equal access to decision making in civic engagement and/or serving on a commission, city councils, or school boards.
In 2019, the training will take place at Global to Local in SeaTac on the following days: Saturday, June 29th 9am - 4pm; a field experience for approximately 2 hours, at a time and date that you select; Thursday, August 22nd 5:30-8:30 pm
We will provide healthy meals on Day 1 & 3 and a $300 stipend.
Given the limited number of spaces and high demand for training, this is a competitive process. Please complete the following questions by Friday, June 7th. We will notify you by June 14, 2019.
