Elevate Black Wellness is promoting COVID health and safety by elevating local Black-led organizations in their efforts to support the health and wellness of the Black community in all of our multiplicity. This spring, Elevate Black Wellness, Momentum PSP, and the Washington State Department of Health are sponsoring Accepting Our New Normal: A health fair & community panel to re-energize COVID awareness and safety, an event coordinated by Queer the Land, Alphabet Alliance of Color, and Altared Roots.

According to a recent study from the Yale School of Medicine, researchers found a staggering 1.63 million excess deaths among Black Americans compared to white Americans. This alarming statistic is a testament to the deep-rooted disparities in wellness and healthcare that plague our communities. That is why Elevate Black Wellness is a pivotal initiative for futures where each Black person has access to the resources, support, and care they need to achieve sustainable wellness.

This is a hybrid event. The health fair and panel will take place May 4th at Y-WE, 5623 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118, and via the Zoom virtual platform! Participants will have free access to COVID conscious health organizations, resources, free COVID tests, art, food and more! Join from 12-1 for a health fair, 1-2 for panel and food, and 2-3 for our home remedy and health aid tutorial with Altared Roots.
